Paul's last heart by-pass was 15 years ago. After his surgery this time, in February 2022, he was skeptical about moving. It would make it time consuming for the kids to get to us from down here in South Bama if we have any more medical issues......
Spring Chickens We Are Not!
So we nixed South Dakota, much to my dismay. I was looking sooo forward to a cooler climate and no hurricanes. Oh, well!
We started looking for land within an hour drive from where we live now. If we went further out, it would make me quit my job of 26 years and make me find a new Doctor and I would have to get my every 6 weeks IV Treatment (Remicade for Crohns) set up all over again - MAJOR PAIN. So I said I would be willing to drive 1 hr to work if it meant acreage, peace and quiet. We did not want to have to clear the property, we wanted utilities already avail, etc. We had our checklist. We found it!!
We found 10.13 Acres that was a farmed field without ANY trees on it, and utilities are at the road. Paul will put off retirement until we get the house built but I'll have to continue to work, I'm not near retirement yet.
